Mueller Water Products is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Welding) for its new facility in Kimball, TN. This role is crucial in ensuring that the manufacturing processes align with the company's commitment to providing clean drinking water to millions. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, defining, and leading the implementation of manufacturing methods and procedures. This includes conducting studies, making method changes, and implementing process improvements to meet manufacturing objectives. You will also be tasked with designing and implementing methods to control manufacturing costs, analyzing data to reduce these costs, and providing specialized engineering services to your department or product line. Additionally, you will assist various departments in achieving cost reduction goals as directed by Engineering Management. In this position, you will evaluate manufacturing processes by leveraging your knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials. You will work closely with vendors and plant operators to gather insights and improve processes. Your responsibilities will also include developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), studying product requirements, and designing manufacturing processes through research, modification, and testing of methods and equipment. You will focus on improving manufacturing efficiency by analyzing workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout, while ensuring product and process quality through the design of testing methods and establishing standards. Moreover, you will provide critical decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, reviewing production schedules, and estimating future requirements. Data collection, analysis, and summarization will be key components of your role, as you prepare reports on product and process performance. You will also maintain product and process data using identified computer programs and perform CNC programming as necessary to enhance machining processes. Supporting engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance will be essential, as you provide data and solutions to inquiries. You will implement new systems and procedures, utilize FMEA, DFMEA, and DOEs to drive continuous improvement, and coordinate maintenance and repair services to keep equipment operational. Additionally, you will mentor staff and technicians, maintain professional knowledge through workshops and publications, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
