About The Position

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Siemens Energy, you will be an integral part of a larger manufacturing team, engaging with the hourly workforce, manufacturing operations, design engineering, and project management. Your role will involve developing and refining processes to meet the technical requirements of customer service orders for steam turbines, which can weigh from a few thousand pounds to over 200 tons. You will work during two outage seasons each year, when electrical energy providers pause their operations for equipment servicing. This position is designed to support weekend operations on a 3x12 shift, Friday through Sunday.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Three or more years of hands-on experience with manufacturing methods.
  • Proven experience in technical writing to communicate mechanical concepts.
  • Established record of collaboration in a team environment.
  • Ability to interface with hourly workforce to troubleshoot and implement new processes.
  • Fluency in CAD software (preferably NX or AutoCAD).
  • Legally authorized for employment in the United States without employer-sponsored work authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Apply educational background and hands-on experience to solve unique manufacturing problems.
  • Develop new tooling and process innovations through experimentation and design.
  • Create and issue detailed work instructions in SAP for factory operations.
  • Standardize processes for training and execution of customer orders.
  • Interact hands-on with shop floor personnel and equipment.
  • Train others in developed processes.
  • Estimate manufacturing process durations for labor quoting.
  • Challenge the status quo with well-researched ideas.
  • Prepare geometric layouts using CAD software for tooling/fixturing.
  • Interface professionally with Design Engineering and customers.
  • Communicate effectively with team members through documented summaries.
