The Manufacturing Engineer / Engineering Technician / Swiss CNC Programmer position is a critical role within a long-established corporation that is recognized as a leader in its market. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with Swiss CNC lathes and will be responsible for working from design prints or solid models to ensure precise dimensions are met. In this role, the Manufacturing Engineer will select the appropriate Swiss lathe, collets, guide bushings, tool holders, and cutting tools necessary for the manufacturing process. The position also involves calculating cycle times and conducting capability studies to optimize production efficiency. Candidates must have a solid understanding of CNC programming, whether through manual programming or by utilizing CAM software to generate code. Experience with CAM software such as Esprit or Partmaker is preferred, as the Manufacturing Engineer will be tasked with developing the most efficient processes and CNC code for production. The role requires good computer skills for documenting work instructions and processes, as well as a strong understanding of feeds, speeds, shop math, and cutting tool applications. Troubleshooting skills and previous setup experience are essential, as the Manufacturing Engineer will support various processes and assist in difficult setups. While knowledge of Citizen Swiss CNC lathes is a plus, the company is open to candidates with experience on other brands such as Star, Tsugami, Hanwha, Nomura, and Tornos Deco. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in processing and programming Swiss CNC lathes, with direct experience on Marubeni Citizen Cincom CNC Swiss lathes being preferred. The company also offers CAM software training to enhance the skills of its employees.
