About The Position

This position involves providing on-the-spot assistance to resolve production issues, ensuring uninterrupted product flow. The role includes designing and implementing corrective actions to reduce Scrap, Rework, and Repair (SRR) rates and decrease Hours Per Unit (HPU). Responsibilities also encompass updating and improving the Manufacturing Plan to integrate new technologies and reduce defect rates, and assessing engineering modifications for alignment with production capabilities and efficient implementation. The engineer will offer technical expertise to Production Operations, supporting mechanics and other team members for smooth operation, and lead initiatives focused on product span optimization and cost reduction to enhance profitability. Key tasks include executing Tool Trial Runs, Work-Around Plans, and Supplemental Tool Design to support and refine the manufacturing process. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.
  • Experience resolving engineering, production, tooling &/or assembly issues.
  • Aircraft structural assembly and technical requirements experience.
  • Experience reading engineering blueprints.

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing Engineering Experience or Support Roles (IE, QE, MRB) on F-35 Joint Strike Fighter or similar military fighter jets.
  • Problem Solving Skills -Demonstrated ability to drive closure and resolve complex, large-scale technical issues/challenges.
  • Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with internal and cross functional teams; Production Operations, Quality, Design Engineering, Supply Chain.
  • AutoCAD or Catia V5 experience.
  • Experience with additive manufacturing (e.g. 3D printing etc.).
  • Understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing including working knowledge of GD&T.
  • Ability to work well in a diverse team environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, etc.).
