About The Position

A successful candidate in this position will be responsible for developing manufacturing processes for new power generation turbine airfoil components. The position also provides on-going shop floor support of non-conventional machining and related processes. The ideal candidate is a proactive Manufacturing Engineer who will own product manufacturing from development through project completion. A successful candidate in this position will be responsible for developing EDM (sinker, wire, & fast hole drilling), laser drilling, ECM, and related non-conventional machining processes for engine ran and new power generation turbine components. The position also assists in shop floor execution, perform data analysis to drive process improvement, and interact with Product Engineering departments to address non-conformances and opportunities to improve design manufacturability. Our Manufacturing Engineers are expected to work collaboratively with CNC Programmers, Fixture Engineers, CMM Programmers, and Set-up Operators on a daily basis in these efforts. This Manufacturing Engineer position will spend equal time working within establish manufacturing systems creating process documentation for production execution and working on the shop floor to observe and improve processes as well as process execution.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related Engineering discipline (preferred).
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience in non-conventional machining manufacturing engineering.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and applying GD&T standards.
  • Strong knowledge of EDM, ECM, and laser drilling processes, including troubleshooting and process optimization.
  • Experience with process control, statistical analysis, and design of experiments for non-conventional machining.
  • Familiarity with programming and operating EDM and laser machines (e.g., Charmille, Mitsubishi, Belmont, Makino, Chmer).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement manufacturing work instructions, including routings, SOPs, and quality control sheets for complex non-conventional machining processes (EDM, ECM, laser drilling).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams-management, engineering, and operators-to ensure high-quality, stable machining processes for rotating blades and stationary vanes.
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of Manufacturing Quality Control Plans and Part Inspection Plans to enhance production process capability.
  • Manage development and qualification projects, including scheduling, experimentation, documentation, and cost control.
  • Analyze in-process quality data (manual and CMM checks) and coordinate with production teams to optimize machining processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing manufacturing data, identifying opportunities, and leading implementation efforts.
