You will contribute to our business' success, navigating a very dynamic and fast-paced environment while solving various technical issues relating to sophisticated gas turbine combustion components. You may participate in daily Gemba meetings where part/project priorities are highlighted as they relate to both standard production and various development initiatives. At times, you will be on the shop floor closely working with the operators to create a robust manufacturing process in anticipation of new product release.

  • Own the development and introduction of new products into the Combustion manufacturing portfolio by Identifying, justifying, and managing projects for improving manufacturing capability, yields, efficiency, and capacity.
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, applying knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling, programming and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards
  • Support and/or lead department capital programs (implementation) and department improvement projects
  • Provide technical support on various manufacturing development processes, vendor support, development cost models, and departmental training for the respective development program
  • Ensure manufacturing processes are clearly defined and communicated from manufacturing engineering to the shop floor via technical instructions, MIs, project briefings etc.
  • Provide technical mentorship and training to operators, technicians, and manufacturing engineers on the use fixtures, tooling, and equipment
  • BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment involving assembly, welding/fabrication, and machining required - PM experience is a plus
  • Ability to interpret sophisticated drawings and specifications, including a solid understanding of GD&T
  • Proven leadership skills in a multi-disciplinary team environment through assertiveness, dialogue and coordinating timely actions within the department and by outside influencers
  • Proven understanding of root cause analysis and corrective/preventative action methods, and exposure to lean concepts, MRP systems, quality control systems
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Current SE employees with existing visa sponsorship may be eligible for visa transfer.
