The Manufacturing Engineer, Lead provides advanced technical leadership in developing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes, tooling, and production methods to support efficient fabrication of parts, components, and assemblies. The role oversees complex process analysis, cost and labor studies, cross-functional coordination, and the release of new or revised products into production, ensuring manufacturability, quality, and operational readiness across the full product lifecycle. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Lead the development, optimization, and documentation of manufacturing processes, workflows, work instructions, and standard operating procedures to support efficient production (30%). Coordinate product release activities by reviewing engineering drawings, validating manufacturability, and interfacing with design engineering and cross-functional teams to resolve design and specification issues (20%). Conduct advanced labor, methods, and process analyses to evaluate equipment, capacity, and productivity, recommending improvements that reduce cost and enhance throughput (20%). Oversee evaluation and implementation of engineering changes, tooling needs, and specification updates while serving as a technical liaison across program management, quality, finance, procurement, inspection, and production (20%). Analyze and maintain manufacturing data, cost estimates, and operational records to support decision-making, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives (10%). Representative Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline. 8–12+ years of progressive manufacturing engineering or industrial engineering experience. Demonstrated expertise in process development, tooling requirements, manufacturability assessment, and production optimization. Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and change documentation. Proven experience driving cross-functional collaboration and leading complex manufacturing readiness activities. Proficiency in cost estimation, labor/time studies, workflow analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies. Effective communication, documentation, and technical problem-solving skills.
