About The Position

Wausau Window and Wall Systems Manufacturing Engineering Intern Architectural Metals is seeking engineering students for an internship opportunity on its engineering team. In this position, the student will experience first-hand involvement in a number of key manufacturing engineering projects, under the direction of experienced engineers.

Requirements

• College student majoring in a related engineering/manufacturing discipline
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Ability to contribute in a team based problem solving environment
• Ability to write process documentation
• Ability to analyze problems and provide/implement improvement recommendations
• Regular exposure to a production environment, including hands-on project implementation

Nice To Haves

• AutoCAD and Solidworks experience is desirable
• Familiarity with LEAN tools and principles desirable

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and monitoring of production labor standards to drive process efficiency
• Participate in the daily production management system, including development and execution of actions (Gemba Walks, Tiered production management)
• Assist with improvement projects, such as facility layout, material flow and process optimization
• Assist in the development of process documentation (SOP and Work Instructions)
• Participate in structured improvement events, including Kaizen blitz events
• Other duties as assigned
