Our program gives students the opportunity to work with a dynamic medical device industry. The internship will provide the opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on experience with state-of-the-art equipment, instruments, and facilities. This intern will assist manufacturing engineers with manufacturing processes, design fixtures and equipment to be used on the production line and help troubleshoot manufacturing issues to affect production and delivery targets. Characterize and study the impact of surface treatment on various polymers for bonding process. Develop process and fixturing for catheter shaft surface treatment for bonding. Conduct engineering build and testing to verify process outputs. Perform destructive tensile testing to understand and document failure modes and mechanisms. Support issue resolution for production and assembly including root cause investigation and corrective action tracking. Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design and develop processes, tooling, assembly fixtures, and procedures. Organize and analyze data sets that outline the systemic improvement opportunities. Support general documentation activities such as proof reading, formatting, and revision
