About The Position

Johnson Controls Federal Systems invites you to apply for a position in our internship program at our Grantley Plant located in York, PA. Our internship program is designed to provide you with a positive work/training experience and challenging objectives that are consistent with your career goals and current level of education. Johnson Controls Navy Systems is located in York, Pennsylvania. We are a DOD facility and sole supplier of Water-cooled Chillers for the U.S. Navy. Chillers vary in weight from 11 – 35 Tons. Whether it is a Submarine, Aircraft Carrier, or Destroyer, their purpose is to keep systems such as weaponry and radar at operating temperatures. These units are deemed critical components, failure of which would jeopardize the success of the ship’s mission. Location: York, PA (Grantley Plant) Pay: Paid hourly depending on graduation year Shift: 1st Shift (6:30 am - 3:30 pm) Benefits: $150 Safety boot allowance Housing Assistance available for qualifying individuals. Johnson Controls Navy Systems – Promotional Video Internship duration would run May 2026, through August 2026. Dates may vary depending on semester end/start for the year. Internship candidates must be enrolled in a degree program in the field of manufacturing. Selected intern(s) will be exposed to numerous disciplines throughout the manufacturing plant to learn product, manufacturing processes, part flow, and inspection to help the student(s) expand their skills in the manufacturing field. Intern(s) would not be subject to PTO but UTO is allowed when approved. The Intern(s) must abide by all JCNS safety policies. Interns will be expected to participate in / lead projects involving.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university
  • Pursuing a degree in Engineering
  • Overall GPA of 2.75 or above
  • Must be able to work and support a Federal Defense contracting facility which requires proof of US Citizenship.

Responsibilities

  • Document manufacturing processes– standard work instructions
  • Design/build fixtures required for production using SolidWorks or Creo
  • Support production areas in solving production process problems
  • Support continuous improvement activities in the plant
  • Support and provide input for improvements to processes, methods, and tooling
