Job Description: Supporting the MFG team with continuous improvement projects. Interns may be asked to support or even own projects and tasks. Some of the projects in the plan are related but not limited to: Space optimization Cleaning, organizing, and implementing lean practices Gowning protocols Defining, training, posting signage and generating procedures Cardboard elimination from the cleanroom Identifying gaps and implementing solutions to eliminate cardboard in the cleanroom Red tag events Cleaning out non utilized materiel form the cleanroom and all MFG areas Visual MFG (AKA 5S) Implement signage for clear labeling of work areas Define workspaces and tooling Define workflow – Materiel in vs out Develop final test docs Work with MFG technicians to develop documentation Part runner (Material expeditor) Support MFG by following up on urgent materiel requests and getting parts to the line ASAP. Maintain/update/create PICO work instructions. Work with MFG technicians to develop documentation Work on and implement correction for BOM routings Bulk material implementation Support implementation of new bulk management process.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an engineering accredited program and working toward a bachelors degree
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and/or electrical schematics
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills - writing, presenting
  • Motivated self-starter, with demonstrated ability to complete projects on time
  • Willingness to learn and bring out-of-the-box ideas to solve existing problems

  • Preference to electrical, mechanical, and industrial engineering disciplines
