About the role: The Manufacturing Engineer will support engineering projects to improve products, processes, and equipment to meet operations goals regarding safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity. This role partners with cross-functional teams to evaluate, problem solve and implement improvements to manufacturing processes across the three product lines the area supports. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of manufacturing problem solving, data analysis, and production flow tools (i.e. LEAN manufacturing)
  • Experience leading process improvement initiatives

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, electrical, materials science, biomedical or mechanical engineering
  • Experience in the medical device industry
  • Strong understanding of quality systems and experience working on a process with acceptance activities (i.e. inspections)
  • Experience with validation and qualification of equipment and processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to develop and present ideas via visual communication methods

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring the performance of equipment and processes to troubleshoot and analyze the root cause of non-conformances, low yields, and other issues related to production and product quality
  • Troubleshooting problems related to design, material, or processes for new and existing products
  • Contributing to business goals and product support by utilizing tools such as process capability studies, Six Sigma and Value Improvement projects, report preparation and process/test documentation
  • Designing and coordinating standard engineering tests and experiments; interpret results and prepare reports and standard documentation to summarize and communicate findings to technical stakeholders
  • Working with vendors/suppliers on technical design, procurement, and fabrication of materials, equipment, fixturing, etc.
  • Identifying, implementing, and managing equipment requirements to support production goals
  • Collaborating with divisional customer teams to deliver new product introductions, change management, process improvements and business continuity projects
  • Identifying and prioritizing improvement opportunities; communicate with key stakeholders to ensure deliverables are met
  • Collaborating with manufacturing operators and technicians to plan and prioritize daily work and meet production and project goals; anticipate risks and address unexpected challenges
