This opening is for our second shift (2:30pm-11pm) Summary Provide support to the development of new and revisions to existing products by acting as a liaison between Design Engineering and Production, identifying and resolving manufacturing problems and directing the tool room in the development of new and/or redesigned tools. Plans efficient, clean and safe manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university with an Engineering concentration and 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft Office Suite, CAD software, Statistical Software (e.g. MiniTab), Statgrapics, APQP Suite, SAP ERP.
  • ISO 9001 experience, Lean Six Sigma concepts, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods.
  • Review and update existing process routings.
  • Execute new product introduction process.
  • Qualify processes and tooling using acceptable statistical methods.
  • Create work instructions, production standards and production staffing requirements.
  • Provide initial training for production tool operation part and assembly.
  • Interface with other departments involved in manufacturing process.
  • Research and resolve production issues.
  • Evaluate and recommend potential new production equipment.
  • Design tools and fixtures through the use of accepted CAD systems.
  • Establish operating, maintenance and safety procedures for plant equipment and machinery.
  • Research and implement continuous improvement projects.
  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma concepts.
  • Develop production ergonomic stations to maximize efficiency.
  • Review quality data and makes improvements as needed.
  • Notify Purchasing of vendor issues and piece part shortages and work with Purchasing to resolve issues.
  • Develop time studies to verify accuracy of labor standards.
  • Coordinate DOE collection.
  • Coordinate the production of capability study assemblies, including controlling input variables.
  • Investigate and respond to CCAs and ICAs.
  • Participate in DFMEAs to promote DFM practices.
  • Maintain DFMEAs as living documents.
  • Source and specify appropriate equipment to facilitate data collection for SPC data interpretation.
  • Participate in SPC data interpretation studies.
  • Participate in seminars, meetings and training sessions as required to maintain a working knowledge of new developments, techniques and products in the industry.
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods.
