Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 2 years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations or project/program management environment or a Master's Degree and minimum 1 years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations or project/program management environment.
  • In lieu of a degree, 10 years' experience in an engineering manufacturing environment will be considered.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experienced in first article inspection.
  • Proficient with CAD tools and create engineering blueprints using ASME Y14.5.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles; experience with Kaizen events or experience with a continuous improvement program (ACE, 6S, etc.).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Statistical Process Control, DMAIC, Process Certification, UPPAP, Six Sigma.
  • Compressor blades and vanes experience.
  • Product ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Drive manufacturing process improvements across multiple process steps that span the full value stream of the parts.
  • Provide focused & effective leadership in the advancement of MRL elements to drive manufacturing risk identification and mitigation to achieve superior quality performance.
  • Identify & implement process optimization & control methods to eliminate/prevent quality turn backs/escapes and reduce overall product costs.
  • Lead significant projects critical to improve manufacturing process capability & quality performance, and execute process tryout, Delta FAI, PARs, Delta PPAP, EFPR.
  • Assist with problem solving during manufacturing related investigations.
  • Own RCCA (root cause corrective action) for corrective action and mistake-proofing non-conformances in the part families.
  • Implement and monitor process certification and report on the health of the forge cell as it relates to our customers' quality requirements.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the EH&S program by complying with all policies and procedures.
  • Maintain close liaison with operational departments, suppliers and/or customers to analyze and resolve issues.
