About The Position

Regal Rexnord is seeking a dynamic Manufacturing Engineer for our Morehead, KY facility supporting $100M+ industrial bearing business with over 150 talented associates. This role is a major driver of our operational transformation, leading a cross‑functional team to elevate performance across our Ball and Roller Bearing value stream. Manufacturing Engineering brings impactful, hands‑on leadership in manufacturing engineering, capital planning, and continuous improvement to accelerate safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth (SQDCG) results. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, enhancing, and sustaining manufacturing processes that ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality operations at the Morehead, KY facility. This role requires strong cross‑functional collaboration and daily engagement at the Gemba using Visual Daily Management tools. The engineer provides hands‑on technical support in machining, tooling, fixtures, training, and problem solving, with a focus on driving process improvements, reducing waste, and supporting capital and non‑capital cost‑savings initiatives that advance both immediate performance and long-term manufacturing capability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, machining, or process development.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations (turning, milling, grinding, assembly etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across functions.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CNC programs, and GD&T.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting tooling, fixtures, and machining conditions.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, Access, etc.
  • Familiarity with lean concepts in such as standardized work, structured problem solving, and waste reduction.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. without assistance.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on the production floor.
  • Must follow all plant safety procedures and PPE requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Advance Degree or certifications (PMP, Six Sigma, QMS Cert, ISO 9001 Auditor, etc.)
  • Experience with CNC programming fundamentals, CAM software, PLCs.
  • Facilitated or Lead Kaizen events
  • Experience with ERP systems: Oracle, Ultriva
  • Background supporting capital equipment or automation projects.
  • Experience with PFMEA development or process capability improvement.
  • Hands-on machining or setup experience is highly beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with EHS and cross‑functional teams to maintain a safe work environment, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive improvements in safety performance and leading indicators for areas of responsibility.
  • Develop, review, and maintain accurate work instructions, standard work, and process documentation to ensure consistent product quality and operator clarity while ensuring documentation meets internal QMS and ISO 9001 compliance.
  • Lead or support problem‑solving activities for scrap, dimensional issues, and rework events, implementing effective corrective and preventive actions through Gemba, JDI, Projects, Kaizens or VDMs.
  • Develop, optimize, and sustain manufacturing processes that meet delivery requirements by improving setup times, cycle times, and throughput using structured data analysis.
  • Identify, justify, and implement cost‑improving solutions through process changes, tooling enhancements, Kaizen participation, and capital/non‑capital project support. Validation of results through ROI tracking and mitigation of short falls through continuous improvement PCDA cycle.
  • Support front line leadership by guiding troubleshoot machining/grinding setups, tooling, and work‑holding to maintain process capability, reduce variation, and ensure quality compliance.
  • Monitor machine health—including performance trends, tool wear, and coolant/lubrication conditions—to sustain stable and predictable production.
  • Oversee and support operator training documentation related to setups, tooling changes, process updates, and safe work practices.
  • Provide daily floor support to resolve technical issues affecting safe operation, equipment performance, and process reliability.
  • Evaluate new product designs for manufacturability and drive improvements in tooling, fixtures, machining methods, and emerging technologies to support future capability growth.
