About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing and assembly solutions for the facility's equipment and assembly processes to ensure efficient operations. This "hands-on" position requires spending the majority of time on the manufacturing floor and must be able to take projects from conception to completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Process or Manufacturing Engineering, or 5+ years of manufacturing experience in a related field.
  • Experience with metal fabrication and surface finishing.
  • CAD and 2D drafting experience.
  • Lean/ Six Sigma experience.
  • Relevant industry experience in the manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ‘SolidWorks Inventor’ a plus.
  • ISO 9001 experience with process documentation and system audits a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Creates product assembly work instructions and manufacturing equipment processing instructions.
  • LeadsRCA analysisand corrective/preventitaveactions forproducts,processes,or systemnonconformances.
  • Partnerswith Quality, Operations, and Maintenance to resolve production and quality issues while driving measurable continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identifiesandplansmanufacturing assembly and test workflow layout.
  • Preparesand reviews jobs for release to production, ensuring accuracy of documentation and routing.
  • Works with Quality Manager to ensure andmaintaincompliance with safety, operational, and regulatory standards of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management (EMS), and Occupational Health & Safety Association (OSHA).
  • Continuously assesses opportunities for improvement and any needed changes to management systems.
  • Evaluatesand improves manufacturing processes through data analysis, experimentation, and validation studies.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching testing methods, and conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Ensuresproduct and process quality by designing testing methods.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
  • Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintainsand updates product and process documentation, routings, and ERP/MRP system data.
  • Supportsnew product introduction (NPI) activities, including process development, training, and technician guidance.
  • Programming for all production processing needs.
  • Usesengineering drawings to program machinery for engineered items.
  • Stays current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and continuous improvement methodologies.
