A Day in the Life As a Manufacturing Engineer I, you will support the development, optimization, and sustainment of manufacturing processes that enable high-quality, life-changing products for our patients. Working under general supervision, you will apply engineering fundamentals, problem-solving skills, and a continuous improvement mindset to enhance product performance, improve manufacturing methods, and reduce costs in a systematic and inclusive way. In this role, you will: Support process and product improvements with supervisory guidance, contributing to projects that enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance. Determine requirements for manufacturing operations and assist in specifying equipment, fixturing, materials, and process parameters. Apply continuous improvement and Lean Six Sigma principles to identify, evaluate, and implement opportunities for waste reduction, process stability, and cost optimization. Assist in equipment qualification and process validation activities to ensure process repeatability, reliability, and compliance. Perform detailed cost analysis of proposed manufacturing changes in partnership with Finance and operations teams. Provide daily production support, including troubleshooting equipment and process issues, minimizing downtime, and ensuring no negative impact to customer service. Lead or support investigations for nonconformances (NCMRs), implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and uphold quality system requirements. Contribute to manufacturing documentation, including manufacturing instructions, standard work, reports, and protocols that support safe, efficient, and compliant operations. Use basic statistical methods to inform engineering testing, data analysis, and decision-making. Evaluate process risk by comparing internal yield and external complaint trends against process FMEAs to accurately assess potential quality impacts. Support improvements in work design, manufacturing layout, and product flow across production areas.
