SUMMARY Support assembly manufacturing through the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing processes and supporting documentation. Assist in resolving manufacturing issues between customers and suppliers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent training and field experience required
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools for problem solving, including statistical methods, PFMEA, root cause analysis and their application to a manufacturing process
  • Knowledge of surface mount technology assembly processes, methods, and equipment and/or high-level assembly experience
  • Knowledge of process design, tooling design, or equipment programming
  • Advanced PC skills
  • Strong analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced reading, writing, and math skills required
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization

Responsibilities

  • Support overall manufacturing process development including: o Manufacturing line layout o Equipment identification and selection o Tooling identification and selection (such as stencils, wave/reflow pallets, assembly fixtures, and prep dies)
  • Support line balancing activities, including structuring of internal bill of materials in alignment with manufacturing processes
  • Implement changes to continuously improve quality and process efficiencies
  • Create and maintain documentation required to support the production process including: o Process flow diagrams o Procedures, work instructions, and visual aids o Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA) o Assembly Request Forms
  • Author and execute equipment qualifications (IQ, OQ)
  • Create programs for various manufacturing equipment such as PLC, robotic and specific assembly equipment operating systems
  • Review and analyze key metrics
  • Drive corrective actions in response to product quality issues or process failures
  • Coordinate with customers, suppliers and internal staff to resolve manufacturing-related issues
  • Assess actual performance to quoted rates and take action to minimize gaps
  • Provide on-call support to resolve engineering related issues arising beyond normal business hours
  • Work safely at all times and complies with Environmental Health and Safety standards and work practices along with all other work rules
