About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is looking for Entry-Level, Associate, or Mid-Level Manufacturing Engineers (Level 1, 2, or 3) to join our Space Launch Systems, Exploration Upper Stage team in New Orleans, Louisiana. Join Boeing's Artemis team — build on a legacy at Michoud, 'America's Rocket Factory.' Imagine your work directly enabling humanity's return to the Moon and paving the way for deep space exploration. As a Manufacturing Engineer on Boeing's Artemis program, lead in the development of the production systems and processes for the newest product to be added to the Michoud heritage, the Exploration Upper Stage. You will turn the design of the spacecraft into the hardware allowing for humans to land on the moon and beyond once again. A proud heritage — Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) is located in New Orleans East and operated in partnership with NASA, Michoud is often called 'America's Rocket Factory.' It combines one of the world's largest industrial manufacturing buildings with heavy lift tooling, large format fabrication capability, and a decadeslong heritage of producing the large structures that enable human exploration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry.
  • Experience with quality assurance principles and practices.
  • Experience using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in development programs.
  • Experience in CREO.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements production and tooling methodologies.
  • Participates on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines.
  • Refines, validates, coordinates and implements conceptual designs and manages the program architecture for build.
  • Develops manufacturing plans and oversees plan optimization.
  • Conducts complex producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements.
  • Resolves complex technical problems.
  • Serves as a project manager to ensure that contract requirements, specifications, design criteria and schedule performance are integrated and maintained.
  • Deploys company Lean Enterprise analysis methods.
  • Documents and communicates producibility best practices.
