About The Position

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer - Early Career for the Production Operations team, focusing on the production of next-generation missiles, harnesses, and chassis for various vehicles. This role involves supporting Thermal Protection System applications and integration and test operations, primarily during the second shift from Thursday to Sunday. The engineer will lead technical teams, ensure adherence to safety and quality standards, and manage day-to-day manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • Previous manufacturing experience through internship, work experience, or coursework.
  • Ability to work weekend second shift from 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM CST Thursday through Sunday.
  • Experience collaborating with a multi-functional team.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education, with 1+ years of professional experience; or no experience required with a Master's degree.
  • Experience presenting to senior government and/or leaders.
  • Familiarity with Lockheed Martin Space Systems or industry equivalent processes.
  • Familiarity with Lockheed Martin Space Systems or industry equivalent tools.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience and/or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certifications.
  • Experience with Electro Static Discharge (ESD) and Ordnance Missile Assembly, Integration and Test operations.
  • Proven Leadership and Management of Aerospace and Manufacturing products.
  • Proven communication skills between Program, Engineering, and Manufacturing.
  • Basic tooling, fixture, and equipment design experience.
  • Basic knowledge of Additive Manufacturing CAD/CAM and 3D Printing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical team daily to meet engineering requirements, schedule, and cost commitments.
  • Provide production status updates to leadership.
  • Assist in leading and adhering to safety, quality, cost, schedule, technical, and programmatic requirements.
  • Provide shop floor support and maintain manufacturing plans and tooling requirements.
  • Manage Missile Assembly Integration and Test areas of Manufacturing.
  • Create procedures and operations for the fabrication of tools and equipment.
  • Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • Incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
  • Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements.
