RFA Engineering ( www.rfamec.com ) is an engineering service provider dedicated to delivering our clients with timely engineering support and expertise. We are seeking an entry-level to experienced candidate to become an integral part of our engineering team. The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customer's world-class engineering and manufacturing facility. Manufacturing Engineer - CMM Programmer RFA Engineering is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer – CMM Programmer to support supplier quality and production inspection activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role translates 3D engineering models and technical drawings into CMM inspection programs for purchased finished goods. The position supports production, receiving inspection, APQP/PPAP activities, warranty claims, and line failures while serving as a technical resource for Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Quality, and the supply base. The ideal candidate brings strong PC-DMIS programming capability, solid GD&T knowledge, and the ability to manage priorities while solving complex quality challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with four or more years of relevant experience, or an Associate’s degree with equivalent hands-on experience
  • Internship experience accepted if documented project work demonstrates advanced PC-DMIS programming capability
  • Advanced PC-DMIS programming proficiency at a Level 3 capability, preferably with Hexagon training
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering print interpretation
  • Experience with data analysis and inspection reporting
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Safety-minded, self-directed, and highly organized
  • Proven critical thinking, problem-solving, prioritization, time management, and record-keeping skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Excel, Power BI, Zeiss Calypso, or PolyWorks
  • Background working with machined components or precision manufacturing environments
  • Experience collaborating with suppliers on quality or inspection data
  • Familiarity with multi-shift manufacturing or metrology team support

Responsibilities

  • Develop, run, debug, and maintain CMM inspection programs using PC-DMIS
  • Translate 3D CAD models and engineering drawings into accurate and repeatable CMM checks
  • Support receiving inspection, production quality, APQP and PPAP activities
  • Assist with warranty claims and line failure investigations
  • Collaborate with suppliers to align and validate CMM inspection data
  • Edit and improve existing CMM programs to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Collect and analyze inspection data to support quality and process improvement initiatives
  • Serve as a GD&T resource for internal teams
  • Provide technical support across office, shop floor, and metrology lab environments
  • Assist with mobile arm measurement support as needed
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts within metrology and quality teams
