About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer at The Kinetic Group will focus on designing, building, and implementing high-volume production equipment and processes. The role aims to enhance product and process reliability, productivity, ergonomics, and safety within manufacturing operations while providing technical support to various manufacturing departments.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
  • Basic understanding of CAD/Modeling, with SolidWorks preferred.
  • High level of communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong personal relationship skills to work with stakeholders including vendors, internal customers, and production crews.
  • Hands-on problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a repetitive high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ammunition, firearms, and reloading.
  • Experience with metal forming and deep draw.
  • Basic knowledge of machine shop technology, tools, and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Improve process capability to guarantee product quality and performance.
  • Enhance manufacturing department productivity by optimizing bottleneck operations for speed, safety, and reliability.
  • Coordinate with production on daily activities and problem resolution.
  • Develop improvements to tooling, process methods, and equipment to enhance the manufacture of existing products and resolve issues.
  • Document new or changed designs on Engineering drawings and specifications, issuing product/process requests, releases, and change notices.
  • Assist the Safety Department with Process Hazard Analysis and incident investigations in supported manufacturing departments.
  • Provide product technical support for customer complaints/inquiries and non-manufacturing support departments.
  • Assist the Quality Department with product issues, leading projects to determine root causes and implement process changes.
  • Perform project management assignments including capital projects, equipment/process upgrades, cost reductions, and material sourcing.
  • Lead and coordinate projects with cross-functional teams, ensuring completion on time and within budget.
  • Apply lean manufacturing, automation, and modern manufacturing techniques where applicable.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
