About the position

In this role, you will have the opportunity to enhance Richmond operations through engineering design, technical guidance, and project management. Collaborating closely with the maintenance department, you'll optimize manufacturing processes by analyzing equipment layouts, workflows, and assembly methods. This is an onsite position located in Richmond, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, fabrication, and procurement of innovative tooling, fixtures, and equipment for Richmond operations.
  • Create, organize, and support programming for various production manufacturing equipment, including CNC equipment, furnaces, and test lines.
  • Offer technical expertise and guidance on engineering principles, equipment use, production processes, and troubleshooting.
  • Identify, plan, and execute project management duties, including capital equipment projects and the startup/shut-down of manufacturing and assembly units. Provide technical support for special initiatives.
  • Execute actions such as tooling design, programming, and technical guidance to support both new and existing product development.
  • Provide limited support for facility-related issues on a case-by-case basis, agreed upon by the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
  • Offer limited technical and equipment support for Quality-related requests, including equipment calibration and limited-scope quality investigations.
  • Provide limited support to the EHS department, as agreed upon in advance, covering equipment technical guidance and other EHS and production-related activities.
  • Offer technical guidance and support to the maintenance department, supporting production equipment and maintaining/securing production output.
  • Provide additional administrative support for the maintenance management software (MMS) as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment (involving machining or assembly operations, preferably).
  • Knowledge & understanding of manufacturing equipment, processes & systems.
  • Experienced in leading, implementing & completing projects preferred.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite & CAD (Siemens NX or Autodesk Inventor preferred).
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills.

  • Base salary for this role is typically $85,000 to $95,000.
