In this role you will have the following daily key responsibilities: Lead manufacturing engineering team in Denver (Waterton) across multiple factories (electronics, RF, machining, coatings, mechanisms, composites, structures) focused on driving producibility into in-work designs, yielding assemblies with reduced cost and build durations. Work with Hardware Engineering teams to drive consistency & identicality into designs across all LM Space Hardware Products. Deliver Production and DFX Entry/Exit Criteria and objective evidence for Program SDR, PDR, & CDR events. Identify opportunities with existing builds to improve quality and schedule with changes to flow or new tooling. Work with all Space production areas to share lessons learned and improve producibility across of all of Operations. Recommend capital expenditures based on new technology within industry. Support proposal efforts, ensure estimates are consistent with current capabilities, ensure design changes are proposed and “build-to-print” items are evaluated for possible improvements and cost/schedule risk profiles defined. Assist in the coordination of employee recruitment, selection, teaming, and training. Conduct performance assessments, set work assignments, salary decisions, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Will also provide leadership, direction, guidance, assistance and mentorship to assigned employees. This position does not support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility one of the Coolest places to work: Denver, Colorado , and be expected to work in the office.

Requirements

  • Bachelors' degree from an accredited university in a STEM field.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive design changes which resulted in reduced manufacturing, assembly, and/or integration cycle times.
  • Demonstrated experience with product manufacturability, producibility, and design to cost.
  • Experience presenting at Program Design Reviews (SDR, PDR, CDR, etc).
  • Fluent in use of SAP, MES, EPDM, Creo &/or other design/CAD suites.
  • At least 5 years direct experience as manufacturing engineer, Systems Engineering and Test Engineer, or similar technical authority in production.
  • You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US TOP SECRET/SCI clearance , to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in technical discipline.
  • Manufacturing Engineering experience in mechanical flight hardware production.
  • Manufacturing Engineering experience in diverse/multiple hardware types & factories including electronics, RF, machining, coatings, mechanisms, composites, structures.
  • Experience in program development with emphasis on cross-functional collaboration and project leadership.
  • Ability to present technical concepts to cross-functional teams & executive management.
  • Demonstrated skills in team building and leading through influence in a professional setting.
  • Experience using Design Profit, Siemens Valor NPI, DFMPro, DFMA, or other producibility software, tools, or plugins.
  • Demonstrated skills in team building and leading through influence of customers and various functional organizations in a professional setting.
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance.
