Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace Fluid Systems)
About The Position
Acara Solutions has been providing aerospace firms with our staffing services for over 65 years. We currently have two contract, or a contract-to-direct Manufacturing Engineer openings at our national aerospace controls client in Valencia, CA. These are onsite positions. The contractor target pay rate range is from $50 - $75 per hour DOE. We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer with experience in fluid systems to support developmental aerospace and defense programs . This role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes for components and assemblies involving hydraulic, pneumatic, and other fluid systems in compliance with DoD standards. Develop and refine manufacturing processes for fluid systems and related components on developmental DoD programs. Collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability of fluid systems (tubes, hoses, fittings, pumps, valves). Support technology transfer from R D to production, ensuring compliance with MIL-SPEC , AS9100 , and other defense standards. Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and tooling requirements. Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing issues. Ensure adherence to ITAR , DFARS , and other regulatory requirements. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, improve quality, and enhance efficiency. Coordinate with suppliers for specialized fluid system components and materials. Support validation and qualification of processes, including first article inspections and process capability studies .
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering or any related field.
- Min 5 years of aerospace manufacturing experience with at least 2 of those years in fluid systems (hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, valves, fuel systems).
- Min 2 years of experience in defense or aerospace programs.
- Min 1 year of experience with CAD (ideally Solidworks or Catia).
- Min 3 years of experience in Lean Manufacturing (a plus to have Six Sigma belt/training)
- This is an aerospace ITAR facility, U.S. Persons required (Green Card acceptable).
