About The Position

The Advanced Planning Manufacturing Engineer at Caterpillar's Mapleton Foundry plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing manufacturing systems and operations. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience desired.
  • Working knowledge of judgment and decision-making processes.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and implementation.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment and safe operation.
  • Extensive experience in manufacturing safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Extensive experience in manufacturing problem management processes.
  • Basic understanding of effective project management strategies.

  • Thorough knowledge of CNC machinery

Responsibilities

  • Utilize NCI and KPI updates for all new capital projects to run machining projects to completion.
  • Contribute to launching new machining capital projects to improve Safety, Quality, Velocity, and Cost.
  • Identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory safety requirements.
  • Work closely with all departments to define requirements for future projects and improve current processes.
  • Develop scope of work and justifications for project approval and work with vendors to implement project details.
  • Coordinate the purchase and application of machine tools, automation controls, and robotics to increase operational efficiency.
  • Design complex jigs and fixtures.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing principles to create balanced layouts and processing within operations.
  • Assist in developing training programs on machining functionality and processes.
