About The Position

The Manufacturing Torque Engineer (SBU) will be responsible for leading the understanding and development/launch of all torque tools used in the vehicle assembly process for new vehicle launches. The Torque Engineer will interface with multiple organizations (Product Engineering, Vehicle Assembly Plants, Quality, Industrial Engineering, VPE Tooling, etc.) to understand all vehicle fasteners and securing processes required. The information obtained will be used to generate the master tool list for torque tools required as well as special manufacturing requirements for new vehicle launches. Teamwork is a critical aspect of this job.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 3 years manufacturing launch experience
  • Working knowledge of torque tools – single point/Multi/Specialty
  • Effective project management, organizational and teamwork skills
  • Fluent understanding of Microsoft Windows Software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to travel unrestricted in US/CAN/MEX based on vehicle launch requirements
  • Ability to work on feet/ plant floor for multiple hours in a day

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
  • 5-7 years’ experience manufacturing launch experience in Automotive
  • Understanding of PFMEA analysis.
  • CAD/CAE software experience
  • Knowledge of Teamcenter Manufacturing and VIS Mock-up/AMPS/EBOM
  • Expert level understanding of Microsoft Windows Software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Thorough understanding of fastening systems/Torque power tool analysis/Tool programming and setup
  • Experienced requisitioner via MEDDS/PentaSAP systems
