The position involves troubleshooting new or existing product problems related to designs, materials, or processes. The role requires designing, developing, and implementing safe and cost-effective complex equipment and methods of assembly for all phases of manufacturing. Responsibilities include defining processes and methods for high volume manufacturing, which encompasses operations method sheets, routing, and sequencing. The candidate will perform virtual builds and create sequences of assembly, as well as conduct root cause investigations and recommend corrective actions for operational problems such as material use variances, bottlenecks, and fixture issues during the build or manufacturing process. Additionally, the role involves identifying opportunities to improve manufacturing processes or resolve problems, following through on resolutions to reduce costs, improve product quality, and cycle time. The candidate will review and develop designs that enhance product manufacturability and assembly, coordinate new product builds in pilot production manufacturing while partnering closely with manufacturing and product engineers, and create and release engineering drawings and bills of materials (BOM) using the Engineering Change Management process. The development of a handoff package to facilitate product transition to high volume manufacturing is also a key responsibility.
