About The Position

Press Forge is seeking a candidate with strong cross functional team skills, in addition to a very high attention to details. Excellent verbal, written and computer skills required as well as mathematical, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills. Duties and Responsibilities: Manufacturing Engineer assists in the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency. Ensures the engineering team and other manufacturing departments work together cohesively. Reviews, evaluates, and implements engineering changes and specification requirements. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Ensuring manufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture are capable of meeting and continuing to meet requirements for quality, cost, delivery rate and lead time. Performs contract review of the customer’s requirements from Purchase Order, specifications, and drawings. Prepares routers (manufacturing plans) for the production processes. Prepares and maintains work instructions/procedures for the production processes. Provide cost analysis for all production work orders. Develop and train planners on specific requirements for all customer quality systems. Create and manage all estimates for quotes while providing feedback to Sales and customers. Train and lead estimators on current forging/production practices. Generate sales order with customer requirements. Performs root cause investigations to support production technical issues. Analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods. Documents standard work with work instructions. Receive and manage inventory, as well as apply material to work orders. Calculate cutting maps and shearing instructions for saw and forge operations, respectively. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret industry specifications, customer specifications, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Will apply knowledge of forging/manufacturing process on a day-to-day basis. Act as primary contact with sales, manufacturing and logistics determining resource constraints and developing plans to achieve customers’ needs. Perform SOX tests and follow procedures for Export compliance. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering recommended or equivalent job experience.
  • A strong technical aptitude along with the ability to work independently, yet interact closely with other departments, customers, and vendors.
