Position Responsibilities Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing processes for machined components by studying product requirements and manufacturing methods Leads and supports PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) for current production and new product introductions Supports NPI and insourcing initiatives, ensuring timelines are met and processes are production-ready Collaborates closely with CNC technicians and programmers to optimize machining processes, tooling strategies, and cycle times Partners with maintenance teams on new equipment installation, commissioning, and process readiness Identifies and executes cost savings projects through process optimization, tooling improvements, and waste reduction Drives process improvements by introducing new technologies, automation, and best practices Develops and standardizes processes to improve product quality, repeatability, and capability Analyzes workflow, space utilization, and equipment layout to maximize efficiency in the machine shop Works with vendors to evaluate and procure tooling, equipment, and materials Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and costs to support planning and decision-making Applies data analysis and statistical methods to improve process capability and predict manufacturing needs Establishes and maintains process documentation, including work instructions and process flows Owns Bill of Materials (BOM) creation and maintenance, and routing setup in Oracle to support accurate production planning and execution Supports PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) activities including documentation, validation, and submission as required Supports troubleshooting of production issues and implements corrective actions Ensures compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards Manages multiple projects simultaneously (5–10 projects) with clear prioritization and execution Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies Knowledge of PFMEA and PPAP requirements Experience with BOM management and routing setup in Oracle Ability to work cross-functionally with shop floor teams (CNC techs, programmers, maintenance) Experience or exposure to automation and new manufacturing technologies Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills Data analysis and process improvement capabilities Project management and prioritization skills Basic programming logic and proficiency in Microsoft Office Strong communication and collaboration skills Position Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field Experience: 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment Experience in process development, NPI, or continuous improvement preferred Machining experience preferred but not required Automotive industry experience preferred Familiarity with manufacturing quality systems and product development processes Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Manufacturing Environment May lift up to 50 lbs.
