About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer 1 position at Hologic is responsible for supporting medical device manufacturing engineering projects and processes. This role involves collaborating with the manufacturing team to achieve cost-efficient operations while maintaining engineering responsibility for assigned product lines. The engineer will participate in design changes, perform root cause analysis, and facilitate communication of changes to manufacturing personnel, all while striving to improve manufacturing methods and product quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science, with experience in Manufacturing potentially offsetting educational requirements.
• 0 - 2 years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineering capacity.
• Basic knowledge of troubleshooting Electromechanical, Pneumatic, and Software systems.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles preferred.
• Knowledge of project management techniques.
• Familiarity with IPC standards (electrical) and ANSI, GDT (mechanical).
• Ability to use problem-solving tools (SPC, TQM, etc.) to optimize processes.
• Effective communication skills for presenting ideas and proposals.

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Familiarity with project management techniques.

Responsibilities

• Support medical device manufacturing engineering projects and processes.
• Work with the manufacturing team to achieve cost-efficient operations.
• Maintain engineering responsibility for assigned product line(s).
• Participate in the transfer of design changes from design engineering to manufacturing.
• Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions for manufacturing issues.
• Facilitate the transfer of major design changes affecting the product line and communicate these changes to manufacturing personnel.
• Support the specification of necessary tools, equipment, and fixtures for the assigned product line.
• Continuously work to improve manufacturing methods, efficiency, and product quality.
