  • Proficiency with optical design
  • Proficiency with metrology systems (e.g., Zygo interferometers, MTF benches, profilometers)
  • Familiarity with opto-mechanical design principles, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing processes (machining, casting, bonding, and precision assembly)
  • Strong communication skills and experience working with global, interdisciplinary teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with analysis tools (e.g., Zemax, Code V, LightTools) is a plus.
  • Experience working with optical suppliers is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Define and support incoming quality processes for precision optics, including fabrication, coatings, interferometry, and alignment.
  • Lead optical module integration and alignment; develop and maintain test fixtures to support system-level validation and ensure long-term sustainability of legacy fixtures.
  • Collaborate with optics, systems, and software teams to resolve manufacturing issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and document standard processes (DfM, POAs); train engineers and technicians.
  • Analyze MES data using SPC to improve yield, specifications, and process stability.
  • Working with suppliers to monitor and improve quality of test fixtures and optical modules.
  • Conduct failure analysis and present findings to internal teams and suppliers.
