Requirements

  • experience leading a team, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • At least 3 years of manufacturing experience
  • Engineering Technology degree
  • Understands the importance of fairness and safety to maximize the mental and physical health of a team
  • Is highly engaged, self-motivated and focused on meeting performance and quality expectations
  • Incorporates continuous improvement into regular activity as a path to long term success
  • Prioritizes experience as a mechanism for professional growth, career development and stability

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate weekly and daily activity in the department, providing instructions that are in accordance with company policy.
  • Develop employee skillsets with training and experience
  • Plan and oversee employee career development
  • Conduct performance reviews
  • Participate in hiring decisions
  • Identify and promptly address safety risks
  • Uphold company policy and procedure.
  • Maintain and improve team cohesion and morale
  • Assign wages and raises for department employees
  • Review output quality to ensure quality standards are consistently being upheld
  • Ensure department is maintaining pace relative to the production schedule
  • Provide feedback and coach/support employees to ensure quality standards are met
  • Communicate with Quality Assurance to make iterative improvements to standard operating procedures and quality standards.
  • Communicate and coordinate with the production manager, other supervisors, and lead hands to schedule work for best plant efficiency.
  • Coordinate tools and materials for production employees
