As the Manufacturing Department Manager at Michaels, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the production operations within our facility located in Grapevine, TX. Your primary responsibility will be to supervise assigned team members to achieve objectives related to production, quality, and safety. You will provide work direction and timely information to both team members and leadership, ensuring overall operational success. This position requires a proactive approach to managing schedules and plans to meet production objectives, while also monitoring operations throughout the shift and making necessary adjustments to resources as needed. In this role, you will actively monitor product and process quality standards, ensuring minimal waste and rework while maintaining a customer satisfaction mindset. Safety is paramount, and you will work closely with the Safety & Loss Prevention team to ensure that all team members adhere to safety protocols and address any behaviors or conditions that may pose a risk. You will also be responsible for training and guiding team members, fostering their development into capable contributors to the team. Your leadership will set the tone in the workplace, promoting team member engagement and retention. You will address performance, attendance, and conduct issues through coaching and appropriate documentation, collaborating with HR as necessary. Regular performance appraisals and feedback will be part of your responsibilities to help team members succeed. Additionally, you will participate in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the manufacturing department.
