Leidos' Defense Sector Colorado Manufacturing Facility is seeking a Manufacturing Data Scientist to join our rapidly growing production organization delivering advanced solutions to some of the nation's most critical defense missions. In this role, you will help shape the digital backbone of our manufacturing operations by creating real-time analytics, developing automated reporting solutions, and enabling data-driven decision-making across multiple production facilities. As an integral member of our manufacturing support team, you will partner closely with production leaders, engineering teams, CIO/Cybersecurity stakeholders, and business functions to build tools and insights that directly support throughput, efficiency, and mission success. Your work will influence shop floor performance and help ensure the delivery of systems that support warfighters and "can't fail" defense missions around the world. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience developing analytics, dashboards, or data-driven reporting solutions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Power Bl, Excel, PowerPoint, and related tools with the ability to build advanced visualizations.
  • Strong programming experience in SQL, DAX, and M (Power Query).
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively within a cross-functional team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-stress environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to lead others and collaborate across departments.
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Colorado Springs, CO area.
  • Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading or supporting project management activities.
  • Background in machining, assembly, or test operations within a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with Cybersecurity practices, including POAMs and Business Protected Environments (BPEs).
  • Experience working across multiple phases of the product lifecycle (prototype, design/development, full-rate production).
  • Active Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop reporting tools, dashboards, and shop floor displays using Power Bl, SQL, DAX, and other analytics technologies.
  • BuiId analytics that provide actionable insights into production performa nee, forecasting, and operational trends.
  • Maintain and continuously enhance visualization tools to support daily execution and long-term growth.
  • Serve as the on-site liaison between production teams and CIO/Cybersecurity partners to support system access needs, data flows, and security compliance.
  • Work closely with production stakeholders to translate business and operation aI needs into practica I data-driven solutions.
  • Communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to technical and non -technical audiences.
  • Act as a reporting Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing guidance, troubleshooting, and training to ensure consistent use of reporting tools and adherence to SOPs.
  • Support standardization initiatives across multiple manufacturing facilities in the Defense Sector.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance data integrity, process efficiency, and manufacturing maturity.
