Manufacturing Data Intern

Balanced BodySacramento, CA

About The Position

Balanced Body is embarking on a digital transformation within our manufacturing hub. We are seeking a data-minded intern to support the implementation of a new, state-of-the-art software platform designed to revolutionize our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, and Time Studies. In this role, you aren’t just "setting up" software; you are the engine of implementation. You will bridge the gap between physical production and digital data by observing shop floor functions, analyzing performance metrics, and ensuring our digital documentation matches the reality of our craftsmanship. Software Implementation & Data Entry: Support the rollout of our new manufacturing software by populating the system with critical production data and process documentation. Process Verification: Compare existing Work Instructions and SOPs against real-time physical assembly to ensure 100% accuracy in our digital twin. Time Studies & Analysis: Participate in on-floor time studies to capture labor standards and identify bottlenecks in the production flow. Continuous Improvement Support: Assist Manufacturing Engineers in identifying "waste" and streamlining workflows through data-backed insights. Document Creation: Utilize the new software platform to help build and refine visual, easy-to-follow Work Instructions and SOPs for production staff. Data Reporting: ( Preferred) Utilize tools like Tableau or Power BI to visualize production trends and software adoption metrics. Candidate Profile: We aren't looking for a software developer; we are looking for a process detective. The ideal candidate possesses: Observational Rigor: The ability to watch a person perform a task and translate those physical movements into structured, logical data points. Analytical Curiosity: You don’t just enter numbers; you ask what those numbers mean for our overall production efficiency. Technical Literacy: Fast learner on new software platforms with a high degree of comfort in data entry and digital organization. Communication Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with Manufacturing Engineers, production technicians, and leadership Internship Outcome By the end of this internship, you will have played a pivotal role in a major digital implementation for a world-class manufacturer. You will leave with a deep understanding of Standard Work, Labor Management Systems, and Manufacturing Data Architecture.
