About The Position

Join Millennium Print Group as a Manufacturing Data Engineer (Data Platform/DBA) We’re looking for a Manufacturing Data Engineer (Data Platform/DBA) to help enable shop-floor visibility, traceability, and data reliability across multiple manufacturing sites. In this role, you’ll transform machine and production data into trusted datasets that support reporting, OEE, downtime analysis, quality insights, and operational decision-making. Location: Raleigh, NC Schedule: Full-time, Onsite/Hybrid (manufacturing + office environment) Pay & Benefits: Competitive hourly pay + full benefits package

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of data engineering experience with exposure to manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Experience with industrial data sources such as OPC UA, SCADA/MES, historians, MQTT, or industrial gateways
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with data modeling and relational databases
  • Proficiency with Python or similar scripting languages
  • Ability to translate machine-level data into actionable operational insights

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with OEE, downtime analysis, quality, and traceability concepts preferred
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms preferred

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and support data pipelines for near real-time and historical manufacturing data
  • Integrate machine and production data from PLCs, OPC UA, SCADA/MES platforms, historians, and vendor APIs
  • Standardize shop-floor data structures, including equipment hierarchies, timestamps, and downtime codes
  • Publish validated datasets for reporting, analytics, and downstream business systems
  • Implement data quality checks to ensure accuracy, reliability, and consistency
  • Partner with Operations, Automation, Quality, Maintenance, and IT teams to translate machine signals into business-ready data
  • Support light database administration tasks related to manufacturing analytics
  • Assist with system enhancements, upgrades, and cutovers, including occasional after-hours support
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards
