About The Position

The Training Program - Data Analytics Team provides technical training & development for entry level data analysts that are interested in the processes, technologies, & manufacturing steps in investment casting that are used at Howmet Aerospace. The program focuses on building a strong foundation with exposure to different parts of our Engines business unit. Individuals will participate in three rotations, lasting six months each. Assignments are cross-functional & based on the individual skills as well as the needs of the organization. During the final rotation, the candidate will seek out a current full-time opening for a permanent position at one of the Howmet Engines facilities. Candidates must be willing to relocate during the 18 month program Where Will This Position Be? The three assignments will be in different plants among the following cities: Dover, NJ (2 facilities) Hampton, VA (2 facilities) La Porte, IN Morristown, TN Wichita Falls, TX Whitehall, MI (6 facilities) Daily responsibilities are based on the specific rotation. They can include the following: Build tools to provide data-informed insights used across various aspects of our advanced manufacturing environments Analyze and disseminate diverse data streams and factors to relevant audiences Provide actionable recommendations based on synthesis and interpretation of data Serve as link between information and application functions Create and monitor standardized systems of gathering, understanding and sharing data Help drive a data-driven culture across the organization with interactions across multiple levels of the organization from engineering leaders to production operators

Requirements

  • Pursuing a BS or MS in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or Statistics from an accredited institution with a Spring 2026 graduation date
  • Previous internship or co-op in data analytics/science or computer science
  • Candidates must be willing to relocate during the program
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicants ability to lawfully obtain access to such items

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment highly desired
  • Strong desire to work in an advanced manufacturing environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a self-directed and cross-functional team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and detailed -oriented
  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis. Previous experience using SAS, Minitab, JMP, MS Excel, M-Code, or Six-Sigma
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 suite skills, including Power Automate and Power Apps
  • Experience using Power BI that demonstrated applications of value-add
  • Experience using SQL and Python
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
