Then we have an opportunity for you! We currently have an opportunity for a Manufacturing Controls Technician to work at our manufacturing plant in Appleton, WI. The Controls Technician reports to the Technical Services Manager and supports maintenance and production. The primary function of the Control Technician is to troubleshoot programming or electrical issues and make improvements to programs or electrical hardware to improve efficiency, safety, or reliability. You will have the opportunity to Make Great Things Happen! Serve as a plant resource and is responsible for troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment, identifying improvement opportunities and implementing solutions. Communicate effectively with managers and maintenance technicians on tasks performed. Interact with engineers, maintenance, production, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and products. Program PLCs and Robots to make equipment safer, faster, or more efficient. Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical panels, equipment, and systems. Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities. Inspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards. Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Assist in developing troubleshooting skills of electricians. Ability to work independently and prioritize work to meet demands of the plant. Ability to be flexible and switch between jobs as priorities change. Other responsibilities as assigned. Requirements

  • Associate's degree, Industrial Journeyman Electrician, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Proven knowledge in working on Robotics, VFDs, servo drives, and PLC based control platforms.
  • Proven industrial controls experience.
  • Proven knowledge of PLC programming and HMI equipment/platforms.
  • Proven troubleshooting, testing, and repair of technical equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair with strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience working in an industrial environment or manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to meet varied shift hours, including overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Knowledge of platforms using Rockwell Automation Software (Allen Bradley) Suite, Fanuc RoboGuide Software.
  • Competent in network architecture, networking devices, PC's, network hardware configuration and database management.
