About The Position

As a Manufacturing Controls Engineer II at Abbott, you will play a crucial role in supporting product development from concept through to sustained manufacturing of FDA-regulated products. This position involves the completion of process development, equipment acquisition, and leading supporting development partners. You will leverage your experience with manufacturing processes and quality/cost savings initiatives while implementing engineering principles to ensure compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), quality, and safety standards. Your responsibilities will include process development, equipment specification, acquisition, and implementation. You will evaluate machine logic and controls to troubleshoot equipment and identify opportunities for process improvement. Additionally, you will integrate controls hardware and software into both new and existing manufacturing equipment. The role requires designing experiments, validating processes, completing testing, and analyzing data to support product development. You will also be responsible for suggesting and supporting new methods or materials aimed at continual improvement of quality and efficiency. Analyzing current equipment for process suitability and providing detailed plans for improvement will be part of your duties. You will create and revise manufacturing documents, specifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety instructions, validation protocols, risk assessments, and other technical documents to ensure compliant, efficient, and safe procedures. Collaboration with other engineers and technicians will be essential in developing solutions and improvements in materials, equipment, and processes as necessary. You will actively participate in teams to ensure continual improvement, safety, and compliance, and lead cross-functional project teams to coordinate activities effectively.
