The manager, Manufacturing Communications, is responsible for developing and executing the internal and external communications strategy for Ford Manufacturing in the U.S., in close collaboration with global colleagues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 7+ years of professional experience in communications
  • Track record of successfully executing strategic communications efforts
  • Published storytelling examples

  • Experience in crisis and issues management
  • Familiar with the earned media landscape and have prior experience working with journalists and influencers

Responsibilities

  • Craft internal and external communications plans that support Ford Manufacturing’s and Ford Communication’s strategic objectives, and work with team members to bring them to life.
  • Lead strategic communications for more than 20 U.S. manufacturing plants.
  • Mine for great stories and find creative ways to tell them internally and externally.
  • Support chief manufacturing officer’s executive communications and partner with them to ensure alignment and integration of communications plan.
  • Serve as media relations contact for Ford Manufacturing in the U.S.
  • Proactively manage risks to employee sentiment, stakeholder perception and Ford’s reputation.
  • Supervise team members, developing their talent and guiding strategy execution.
  • Grow strong relationships with colleagues and media.
  • Continuous personal development of functional competencies and Ford OS behaviors.
