Victaulic is seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Planner/Buyer to join our team in Duluth, GA. In this role, you will efficiently plan, purchase, and manage supply points and product lines to ensure timely delivery of finished products while maintaining high customer service levels. Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in Purchasing, Material Control, or Manufacturing Planning.
  • Minimum Associate's Degree (2 years).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer service-driven with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office Suite.
  • Goal-oriented, reliable, self-motivated, and able to multi-task effectively.
  • Thorough understanding of steel and rubber specifications and tolerances.
  • Good organizational skills and knowledge of Country of Origin and/or domestic or AIS requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience with AS400/Profound.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently plan, purchase, and manage assigned supply points and product lines to ensure timely delivery of finished products and maintain high customer service levels.
  • Review open customer and shop orders, equipment capacity, and historical data to prepare daily production plans, collaborating closely with Shop Floor supervisors to meet customer commitment dates.
  • Release purchase orders for production materials, floor stock items, and other purchases to support manufacturing needs.
  • Gain specialized knowledge of component options such as roll from plate or pipe, shear from plate or flat bar, and unique material grades.
  • Utilize inventory replenishment methods to maintain minimum stock levels, reduce slow-moving and scrap inventory, and ensure maximum availability of active items.
  • Resolve issues with quality, delivery dates, quantity, and invoicing of purchased commodities.
  • Develop and manage databases to ensure smooth system operations, including Profound, MRP, BPCS/CIC/BPA, Mendix, and Qliksense.
  • Collaborate with the manager and operations team to establish safety stock positions, optimize stocking locations, and resize Kanbans and rack locations.
  • Learn and apply lean manufacturing principles, develop plans for process improvements, and participate in FEM cost and inventory reduction meetings.
  • Work effectively in a team environment with warehouse, manufacturing, customer service, maintenance, and shipping teams to meet customer requirements.
  • Adapt quickly and utilize various problem-solving techniques.
  • Expedite suppliers and logistics, manage impact order management, and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Manage tactical duties with suppliers and report on supplier performance.
  • Appraise vendor performance based on metrics such as on-time delivery, accuracy, and material quality, and maintain day-to-day supplier relationships.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement Processes to resolve workplace issues.
