About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Manufacturing / Automation Engineer to enhance our manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will have a strong background in automation and will work to identify and improve problematic areas within our manufacturing equipment and processes. This role requires a proactive approach, directly impacting machine downtime and overall facility efficiency.

Requirements

10+ years of experience in machine troubleshooting, building, and maintenance.
Experience with small automation equipment and injection molding processes.
Proficiency in 3-D CAD, preferably Solidworks.
Strong mechanical skills and ability to use shop tools and equipment.
Competence in using measuring equipment like micrometers and calipers.
Basic machining skills using lathes and mills.
Ability to write technical documents and standardized work experience.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting and controls programming.
Basic computer skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Ability to write code for PLCs is a plus.
Effective communication with production staff and external vendors.
Knowledge of plant infrastructure systems.
Background in quality control procedures and processes.
Six Sigma training, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and total productive maintenance experience are strong advantages.

Responsibilities

Identify and address problematic areas in manufacturing equipment and processes.
Design and implement improvements to enhance machine efficiency and reduce downtime.
Collaborate closely with machine technicians and production staff.
Design machine assemblies using Solidworks.
Troubleshoot mechanical motion and automation equipment hands-on.
Understand electrical schematics and machine wiring.
