About The Position

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Multi-Functional Manufacturing Associate Manager to lead ordnance and inert assembly manufacturing operations at our Courtland, Alabama facility. In this role, you will manage day-to-day production activities in the Ordnance Building (OB), lead a team of supervisors and technicians, and partner closely with engineering, quality, safety, and program teams to deliver high-quality products on schedule and at cost. This position is ideal for a hands-on manufacturing leader who enjoys developing people, improving processes, and working in a mission-critical production environment. At the Courtland facility, manufacturing teams play a critical role in producing high-reliability hardware that directly supports these missions. Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years of professional work experience, including experience in manufacturing or production operations
  • Demonstrated experience managing people, schedules, and resources in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to take ownership of work, make decisions, and be accountable for results
  • Experience communicating clearly and professionally with employees, cross-functional partners, and senior leaders
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing operations such as assembly or fabrication
  • Experience following written work instructions and coordinating material or inventory movement
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience or training in Root Cause Analysis
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide clear direction while adapting to schedule or priority changes
  • This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in ordnance manufacturing and familiarity with ordnance safety practices
  • Lean or continuous improvement experience, including LM21 Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification
  • Experience fostering a strong culture of accountability and follow-through
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience handling classified hardware
  • Familiarity with SAP, VE-CAMS, or SAIL software
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to carry tasks through to completion

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support supervisors, technicians, and support staff in daily manufacturing operations
  • Manage staffing activities including hiring, training, work assignments, cross-training, performance feedback, and recognition or corrective actions
  • Partner with engineering, quality, material control, facilities, program management, and safety teams to meet quality, cost, schedule, and safety goals
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, with a focus on safety, quality, affordability, and on-time delivery
  • Maintain strong involvement in day-to-day ordnance and inert assembly production activities
  • Coordinate future production planning with Cost Account Managers (CAMs) and Program Plans & Requirements (PPR) teams
  • Ensure technicians have the right training, materials, procedures, and tools to perform their work safely and efficiently
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality Engineering to support tooling needs, schedules, and quality requirements
  • Use SAP to coordinate service and production orders and ensure materials are available when needed
  • Support production planning, quality initiatives, process improvements, and material management activities
  • Assist Manufacturing leadership with daily personnel allocation and work prioritization
