Job Summary: Operators are responsible for the safe operation of plastic envelope manufacturing equipment to produce quality product by continual adjustments of gauges and digital control systems that adjust speed, temperature, and air pressure while also focusing on safety and efficiency. This position assists the department in the safe operation of plastic packaging to produce quality products.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Basic math, reading, computer, and analytical skills.
  • High awareness towards safety and ability to analyze and solve production facility problems.
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team and independently.
  • Able to work overtime and on weekends.
  • Must be able to wear cotton clothing, steel toed boots, and safety glasses.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift weights up to 30lbs.
  • Ability to sit for periods up to 3 hours at a time.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive assembly using hands and arms which includes bending, reaching, and stretching.
  • Dexterity using hand/eye coordination.

Nice To Haves

  • Bi-lingual skills in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for working on the production line - includes inserting materials, folding, inspection, and assembly.
  • Knows and adheres to all safety rules and procedures.
  • Complete all required inspections and testing on products.
  • Visual inspection of chemical pouches for quality issues.
  • Manage production flow and interruption of lines when quality issues arise.
  • Identify defects and communicate with Operator III for possible line adjustments.
  • Comply with Company standards with regard to housekeeping and 6S on machines and surrounding areas.
  • Perform duties of other team members as required during breaks and absences.
  • Supports business needs by working overtime and on weekends as necessary to satisfy schedule requirements
  • Other duties as assigned.
