About The Position

Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network, aiming to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks, including households, schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies. The Integration Technician II is responsible for the assembly of Amazon Leo satellites, working closely with engineering, test, quality, and operations teams to deliver production hardware to final integration. Daily tasks involve hands-on mechanical assembly, avionics integration, rigging, harnessing connections, and fiber optic splicing and testing. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, precision, and adaptability to ensure every satellite build meets stringent quality, workmanship, and safety standards, while adhering to strict timelines for launch schedules.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years in a high traceability manufacturing environment, or relevant trade school certification
  • 1+ years using hand tools and/or precision measuring instruments (i.e., Calipers, multi-meters, torque wrenches)
  • 1+ years working with test tools and test methods that adequately validate the system
  • Experience reading, interpreting and working from engineering documentation and/or drawings
  • Willing to work all shifts, overtime and weekends as needed
  • Able to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive assembly operations
  • Able to climb and down ladders, work in tight spaces, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position
  • Able to lift at least 25 lbs. unassisted
  • Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines
  • Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Experience in the aerospace industry, automotive industry, medical device industry, aviation, military or other high-reliability operating environment
  • Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements
  • Experience with forklifts, cranes and heavy equipment
  • A demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical drawings, work instructions and standard operating procedures

Responsibilities

  • Follow work instructions and safety procedures
  • Assemble and test with emphasis to detail, an assortment of LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, avionics, or other complex aerospace builds
  • Participate in process improvements, maintain floor stock inventory
  • Independently execute and prioritize work to meet company deliverables
  • Execute test procedures for component and system level testing maintenance
  • Champion safety requirements in all designated zones and work locations
  • Ensure lab equipment is maintained and calibrated
  • Support preventative maintenance activities on test equipment and data acquisition systems
  • Receive shipments and coordinate deliveries with recipients (Using pallet jacks, kit carts, etc)
  • Contribute to improving SOPs and safety procedures
  • Perform mechanical assembly
  • Perform avionics integration
  • Perform rigging
  • Perform harnessing connections
  • Perform fiber optic splicing and testing
