About The Position

The Boeing Technology Innovation team is seeking multiple skilled Manufacturing Assembly and Installation Engineer (Mid-Level, Lead, or Senior) to join our growing teams in either Everett, WA or Tukwila, WA. In this role you will translate design into robust, repeatable assembly processes that meet producibility‑at‑rate goals. You will collaborate with design, tooling, test, and production teams to establish efficient, safe, and scalable assembly methods that reduce cost, scrap, and rework. This role will have the opportunity to influence the future of Boeing products by shaping manufacturable composite wing designs. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Engineering Technology), Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, or Computer Science.
  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with assembly process development for large structures (aerospace, automotive, or heavy industry).
  • Knowledge of assembly tolerancing, fastening processes, and GD&T.

  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with composite structures and composite-specific assembly methods.
  • Hands‑on experience with large tool set up, tolerance build, and first article build/inspection.
  • Familiarity with producibility at rate metrics, lean manufacturing, and automation/robotics in assembly.
  • Proficiency with CAD (for tooling review), data analysis tools, and manufacturing simulation tools.
  • Prior aerospace manufacturing experience. Wing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate wing assembly processes, including jigs/fixtures, assembly sequences, tolerance control, fastening/bonding methods, and inspection points.
  • Advocate manufacturability and producibility during early design reviews to influence decisions that enable production at rate.
  • Create and maintain assembly process documentation: work instructions, build plans, process control plans, and first article packages.
  • Lead or support prototype and demonstration builds, troubleshoot assembly issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Define tooling and equipment requirements; collaborate with tooling designers and suppliers to deliver fit‑for‑purpose fixtures.
  • Perform cycle time analyses, balance work content, and recommend line layout and ergonomics to meet throughput targets.
  • Interface with suppliers to ensure parts and assemblies meet producibility and assembly needs.
