About The Position

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Process Engineer plans, coordinates, and directs process engineering activities. This is an individual contributor position.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field of study
• 5 years of Engineering experience or demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Must be willing to travel to Tsubaki Nakashima sites as necessary

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree
• Metal Bearing component experience
• Lean, Six Sigma experience
• PE Certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Proficiency in all relevant manufacturing processes and possess the ability to troubleshoot/diagnose problems in each step of the manufacturing process
• Evaluate manufacturing processes and develop process improvements to effectively utilize equipment and materials to maximize production.
• Provide engineering support for production and maintenance activities.
• Acquire and install new manufacturing capacity and capital equipment. Follow manufacturing project protocol and monitor financial data to ensure compliance to budget.
• Create project proposals which includes cost justification, coordinating bids, vendor/contractor selection, installation, sign off, training, and documentation.
• Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
• Submit capital expenditure requests, including cost analysis and justification including anticipated ROI schedule.
• Assign project personnel as needed to specific phases or aspects of projects such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications, technical plans, and product testing.
• Evaluate design changes, specifications, and drawing releases and make recommendations to the appropriate management authority.
• Confer with planning and designing staff regarding product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
• Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
• May confer or visit with customers regarding R&D or complaint resolution.
• Conduct appropriate training, as needed of other personnel with regard to procedures, processes, and equipment.
• May be required to visit international facilities as needed.
• Supports 5S initiatives by maintaining a safe and clean work environment and educating and directing team members on the importance of 5S and workplace safety.
• Other duties as assigned.
