As the Engineer, you will be responsible for accurate manufacturing data, improving production processes, and driving cost reduction initiatives across the business. You will work cross functionally with operations, engineering, supply chain, and finance to enhance system accuracy, optimize workflows, and develop tooling that improves quality, safety, and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering preferred, or related engineering field
  • 0–4 years of relevant engineering or manufacturing experience.
  • Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills; ability to interpret data and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Proficiency in Excel, pivot tables, productivity reporting, and data manipulation required.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, machining, and tooling/fixture design.
  • Competence with geometry, trigonometry, GD&T, and Excel formulas.
  • Strong communication skills with an adaptive, collaborative approach.
  • Strong time‑management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across diverse teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant internship experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Greenbelt certification is a plus but not required.
  • Basic understanding of materials and ceramic processing helpful but not required.
  • Experience with Power BI preferred.
  • Experience with CAD (SolidWorks preferred), SPC systems, PCS, or similar platforms is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with operations, engineering, supply chain, and finance to maintain data accuracy, support process improvements, and implement sustainable cost reduction strategies.
  • Analyze cost variances, scrap trends, labor efficiency, and material usage; identify root causes and support corrective actions.
  • Identify, quantify, and execute cost reduction initiatives across labor, materials, scrap, cycle time, and tooling.
  • Create, maintain, and improve ERP master data including BOMs, routings, item attributes, production configurations, and cost structures.
  • Work cross functionally to improve ERP workflows, support system enhancements, and train users on correct data practices.
  • On some cadence, an in-depth review of ERP data is completed for financial resets.
  • Generate cost estimates for new products and revisions; support product costing for repeat items and NPI Levels 1–3.
  • Will interact with multiple systems used to maintain manufacturing site performance
  • Provide accurate cost and manufacturing data to management.
  • Partner with operations, supply chain, engineering, and finance to drive productivity, system improvements, and cost‑savings.
  • Participate in scrap reduction, EHS initiatives, and productivity projects.
  • Support process improvement opportunities but does not serve as primary process owner.
  • Design and develop production fixtures, jigs, gauges, and tooling that improve safety, repeatability, cycle time, and quality.
  • Collaborates with and learns from commercial partners to support product and project needs.
  • Support CAM tooling path setup or updates.
  • Support prototyping efforts, including hands‑on builds, evaluations, and testing.
  • Develop customer approval drawings and ensure accuracy of supporting documentation.
  • Work closely with operators to gather production feedback and incorporate insights into engineering and ERP updates.
  • Understand machining steps, material flow, and floor issues to ensure accurate costing and system representation.
  • Work independently with periodic supervision; collaborate across multiple functions.
  • Utilize PCS and SPC to monitor, maintain, and improve product and process quality.
  • Ensure documentation, drawings, and change‑controlled records remain accurate and up to date.
  • Utilize the formal change control process to maintain accuracy and traceability of engineering and manufacturing data.
  • Supports operators on the production floor and incorporates their feedback into process improvements.
  • Provides cost data, manufacturing insights, and technical recommendations to management.
  • Continues learning various ceramic processing methods, tools, and materials to support manufacturing excellence.
