About The Position

Now Hiring: Accountant II | Sugar Land, TX (Onsite) Join a long-standing manufacturing company in Sugar Land, TX that’s adding an Accountant II to their team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on accounting, operational exposure, and cross-functional collaboration and wants to build on experience in cost accounting, manufacturing, or project-based environments (construction, engineering, etc.). Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3–5+ years of accounting experience (open to a mix of public + industry)
  • Experience in manufacturing, cost accounting, inventory, OR project/job costing (construction, engineering, etc.)
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
  • Detail-oriented with solid analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with WIP, standard costing, or project-based accounting is a strong plus
  • Experience with ERP systems ( Syteline a plus, not required )

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments
  • Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support month-end and year-end close and assist with audits
  • Work across departments (Purchasing, Service, Sales) to resolve discrepancies and improve financial accuracy
  • Assist with A/P, A/R, and invoicing as needed
  • Review employee expenses and monitor travel and credit card spend
  • Reconcile and analyze inventory and WIP subledgers , investigating variances
  • Support physical inventory counts and cycle counts
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and ensure GAAP compliance
  • Contribute to ERP enhancements and process improvements
